Why Sanskrit Mantra Works – Part 3.

Last week, I spoke about how the Ida, Pingala and Sushumna were the three main Nadis in the Pranic Body. This week we are going to talk about the 6 main Chakras that reside in those places where the three supreme Nadis intersect.

Chakras are these energy vortexes within the pranic body. They are like energy distribution centres – concentrated psychic energy whirlpools of different coloured vibrational light. They take in energy and distribute it to the appropriate places around the body systems.

Chakra in Sanskrit means wheel. But they are also represented as flowers – often thought of as lotuses. Each chakra has a different number of petals on it.

Often, people say that there are 7 Chakras counting the Sahasrara in with the others. But the Sahasrara works a little differently than the others – it acts more like a doorway. There are many other esoteric Chakras in the body, but here we are focusing on these 6 main ones.

You can see your Chakras when in deep meditation. They are very beautiful. If we look at them closely we see the Muhladhara has 4 petals, and the Vishuddhi has 16 etc., When we add up the number of petals on these 6 main Chakras we find we have 50 petals altogether.

In Sanskrit, there are 50 sounds in the alphabet. Each sound of Sanskrit is tuned to and vibrates one of these petals of the Chakras. And it is through this vibration that the frequency that we operate from is transformed and changed.

Each Mantra is like a powerful formula to transform our energy to a higher frequency. There are thousands of Mantra formulas for every challenge under the sun. There are a few Master Mantra formulas like the Great Gayatri and the Great Mani that are so potent in their ability to transform us – they are the ‘go-to’ Mantras.

Vajrasattva is a powerful Boddhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism that works on purifying sincere seekers as they go forward in their practices.

There is a well known 6 syllable Mantra of his which I have mentioned before:

OM VAJRA SATTWA HUNG

FOR PERSONAL PURIFICATION

But today I would like to share with you the 100 syllabled one:

OM VAJRA SATTWA SAMAYA
MANU PALAYA VAJRA SATTWA
TE NO PA TISH DA DRI DO ME BHAVA
SATTWA KAYA ME BHAVA
SUPO KAYA ME BHAVA
ANU RAK TU ME BHAVA
SARVA SIDDHI ME PRAYA TSA
SARVA KARMA SU TSA ME
TSI TAM SHRI YAM KURU HUNG
HA HA HA HA HO BHAGAWAN
SARVA TATAGATHA
VAJRA MA ME MUN SA
VAJRA BHAVA
MAHA SAMAYA SATTWA
AH…..

SUPREME PRAISE TO VAJRASATTWA. BY YOUR VOW AND KEEPING GUARD, I ENTREAT YOU VAJRASATTWA – STAY NEAR ME, STEADY ME, SATISFY ME, INCREASE THE POSITIVE IN ME, ENRICH ME, CONVEY LOVE TO ME, BESTOW UPON ME PERFECT ATTAINMENTS, IN ALL MY DEEDS, MAKE MY MIND FULL OF VIRTUE AND A REPOSITORY OF THE FOUR JOYS, THE FOUR EMPOWERMENTS, THE FOUR KAYAS. OH BLESSED VAJRASATTWA, MAKE ME A VAJRA HOLDER, WITH ADAMANTINE RESOLVE, STAY WITH ME, DO NOT LEAVE ME, O BEING FROM WHOM SPRINGS THE GREAT VOW

This is a very powerful and wonderful Mantra. If you find the 100 syllabled one too long the shorter version is wonderful and you can have great success with that one too, as it contains the basic points.

With Love,

Aly M. Dunne
